Food For LIfe is an Award Winning nutrition education and cooking class program that provides an innovative approach to diet related chronic disease. Who We Are Since 1985, Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicin
(PCRM) has promoted preventive medicine, especially good nutrition, conducted clinical research, and advocated for higher ethical standards in research. PCRM is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization headquartered in Washington, D.C. Our clinical research programs have broken new ground in the control of diabetes, overweight, chronic pain, and other serious conditions. Notably, in 2003, the National Institutes of Health awarded PCRM a grant to study a new approach to type 2 diabetes that has revolutionized the nutritional treatment of this condition. PCRM puts nutrition information into the hands of clinicians through our AMA-approved Continuing Medical Education programs, in partnership with the George Washington University School of Medicine, and gives people everywhere a chance to adopt healthful diets through the online Kickstart program, an engaging multilingual three-week introduction to healthful nutrition, and our Food for Life classes offered throughout the U.S. and in many other countries.
